Mr. Yu Hwa Li
Mr. Yu Hwa Li joined Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka (HFHSL) in February 2018. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Senior Executive Manager at Caritas Sri Lanka -SEDEC since May 2016. Yu Hwa spent most of his career at World Vision, having joined World Vision Lanka in January 1992 until his appointment as its National Director in April 1998 until September 2008. Between 2008 and August 2015, Yu Hwa was World Vision international’s Regional Governance Advisor for Asia Region. During the period 2011 to 2015 he was part of the HFHSL National Board of Directors. With over 25 years of experience in NGO Management, Leadership and Governance, he serves on several other non-profit Boards.
Senior Manager, Finance
Clerence Gunarajah has over 30 years of experience in the finance sector. He joined Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka in 2005 and has served in management and senior management positions within the organization. Previously, he was employed with Brandix Intimate Apparel Ltd. and St. Anthony’s Group of Companies. He holds a qualification in AAT (UK) and part qualification in CIMA (UK). He also holds a NIBM Diploma in Business Management.
Senior Manager, Corporate Relations & Resource Development
Melissa Jayasuriya joined Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka in October 2016. She is a Specialist in International Relations, Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law, Peace & Conflict Resolution and International Development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in International Relations (First Class) from the University of Colombo and a Master of Arts in International Relations (High Distinction) from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Prior to joining Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka, she served as the Manager, Programmes & Grants at the Neelan Tiruchelvan Trust and also served as a Lecturer for the University of Colombo and University of London (International Programmes).
Tuan J. Arifeen
Senior Manager, Programs
Tuan Arifeen a certified Project Management Practitioner from the APMG-International, Buckinghamshire, England and obtained his Masters in Business Administration from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst, Dehradun University India. He has also obtained qualifications in Post Graduate Studies in Finance, Management and International Affairs.
Prior to joining Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka, he has served in the capacity of Country Director for People In Need; an INGO based in Czech Republic involved in mitigating climate change in Sri Lanka, which was funded by the European Union. He has served in Senior Management positions in the United Nations Office for Project Services, the Colombo Plan Secretariat for Cooperative Economic and Social Development in Asia and the Pacific. He has also served in the private sector in Sri Lanka and overseas.
‘Homes not Houses’ European Union Funded Project
Chief of Party
Brian Grant joined Habitat for Humanity International in November 2017 and was seconded to Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka as the EU project, Consortium Chief of Party. Brian brings over 20 years of project management experience, working with large donors such as USAID, World Bank, The Global Fund, The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, The Lemelson Foundation and the John Deer Foundation. He has managed donor funded projects for the following organizations: KickStart International, The Mennonite Development Associates, EngenderHealth and Africare. Brian has an aviation engineering background and is a co –holder of a human powered agricultural irrigation pump patent with KickStart International. His innovational achievements include a USAID innovation award for a mobile phone anemia testing app and an Avon award for a short video focused on behavior change communications around gender based violence. In 2006 the USAID Administrator highlighted the project that Brian was managing as a global example of how Global Development Alliances are successful.
Head of Finance
Dwight Savundranayagam having joined Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka in the year 2000 now functions as Head of Finance -EU. He counts over 25 years, experience in Finance and Accounting having served in certain leading corporate sectors in Sri Lanka. He has also been associated with an overseas company in the field of finance. He is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka, member of the Institute of Certified Professional Managers of Sri Lanka and holds a Diploma of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Sri Lanka.
Juderaj Croos joined Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka as Project Director in May 2017. He counts 22 years of experience working in housing construction, development, disaster risk reduction and response (DRR) and humanitarian responses in international agencies such as UNDP, UNHABITAT, FAO, Oxfam GB, CARE, ASB, and Government State Service. He has also served internationally in UNDP Maldives. He holds a PGDBM and BBA from the University of Jaffna and is presently reading for a MSc in Disaster Management from the University of Peradeniya.
Senior Project Manager
Joseph Jeyamaran joined Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka as Senior Project Manager in January 2016. He counts over 19 years of professional work experience in planning, implementing and managing development, rehabilitation and emergency/relief related programs. Prior to this he has worked at ICRC, UN–Habitat, UNICEF, UNOPS, Oxfam and GTZ. He holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA, Merit Pass) from the University of Colombo and a BSc. in Civil Engineering (Hons) from the University of Peradeniya.
Paul Camillus John
Paul John has over 25 years of experience in the finance sector. He joined Habitat for Humanity Sri Lanka as a Finance Manager of the European Union funded project in March 2017. Prior to joining Habitat for Humanity he served Samaritan’s Purse Sri Lanka office for 3 years and Samaritan’s Purse International, in Vietnam for over 6 years. He is a Licentiate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and he records over 10 year experience in the corporate sector.
